Be plain might just be one of the best secrets in Korean skincare. Their products are all awesome. Seriously, they just “get” it. So if you’re a fan of Korean skincare, the types of ingredients often used and the general philosophy of actives and effective ingredients without the extra “fluff” it’s a great brand to try.I use this little tube of silky green cream as a calming, healing barrier cream. I don’t get pimples but I do get troubled areas….often of my own making or due to the dryness of my skin. And thanks to a range of issues from age to vitamin deficiencies to certain health conditions, my skin is slow to heal. Really slow. Painfully, ridiculously slow. Often what happens is that I’ll have a spot and rather than it closing off and healing the area gets dry and cracks and the healing process has to start all over again. This can repeat for weeks and even months!! I’ve learned that if I keep an area well hydrated, protected and calm that it speeds up the process and this is exactly what this cream helps do.The ingredients in here are great. You have several that can help balance skin, several that help provide that protective hydrating layer and others that can help soothe irritation or help fade that post blemish hyperpigmentation that can make skin look blotchy. It also has retinal but I don’t think it’s in any concentration that would cause dryness or peeling. This cream is so hydrating that unless one is really sensitive to retinoids I wouldn’t expect any side effects but it’s good to keep in mind. There’s no drying alcohol in here, no fragrance (yay for a scent free product!) and no essential oils. What this isn’t is a pimple cream that sucks things dry. It’s not meant to be. It has ingredients that can promote a healthier balance, it can speed up the process with its salicylic acid and helps minimize post inflammatory discoloration. But it’s also gentle enough to be used as a barrier cream for irritated dry skin.It is a small tube but since it has a beautiful silky texture it spreads really well so I literally need a dot of this. Like a fraction of a pea size drop to treat areas that need treating. For the quality of the cream and being from a company that consistently makes great products I think the price is fair and worth trying
