The beplain matcha catechin essence looks and smells just like a matcha latte. It is light, absorbs into my skin quickly and layers well with other products. I think that I can use this both during the summer and the winter, though in the winter I will do a double layer. It does not leave my skin sticky or tight which is really important to me.
This is a lovely and fun essence if you're not sensitive to botanical extracts or fragrance. It literally looks and smells like a matcha latte once you shake it up and dispense it!!It has a milky and watery consistency. The fragrance is a very light matcha latte scent. It doesn't linger long, but added fragrance can be a skin sensitizer for some. It absorbs well, quickly and without a tacky film. It's not the cheapest for $34, but it is 150ml and you don't need much. It has lots of botanical skin soothers (if they aren't irritants for you) and niacinamide (first ingredient) which can help control sebum, provide pore care (over time) and brighten.
This is a fun product! The essence needs ti be shaken together as there is a milky part that separates out. The consistency is very much like a silky toner, very watery. I found it was easier to put some mixed essence in a small spray bottle to prevent product waste. There is a very light scent that dissipates pretty quickly. The essence absorbs completely into the skin and feels very glowy and hydrated. This is meant to be a part of a routine after toners and it just seems to add more hydration moisturization to my skin. Being 45, I'll take all the help I can get!The bottle is very large and only a very smell amount is needed so this bottle will last me a very long time, so the value is worth it.Since I have this in a small spray bottle, I keep it in my purse so I can use this to rehydrate my skin when on road trips or when I need a little refresh on my face. I enjoy the appearance of my skin after using this essence. Definitely recommend!
This serum is fine. There is absolutely nothing offensive about it. However, there is nothing outstanding about it, either. It seems to help provide some level of hydration combined with my other skincare products, but there is nothing that screams "Must Have" to me.It didn't irritate my skin. It doesn't have much of a scent at all. It's very thin, so a little goes a long way.I'll probably use it when I think about it, but I won't go out of my way to do so.
I like this essence more than I expected to, even though it is not an essential product in a strict sense. From a formulation standpoint, this is not a treatment essence. It does not exfoliate, brighten much, or deliver concentrated actives. Instead, it offers stabilization. It provides light hydration, gentle barrier support, and low level calming in a way that feels consistent and predictable. The texture sits between a toner and a light emulsion. It is milky, easy to spread, and absorbs cleanly without much lingering stickiness or residue. I tend to shake the bottle vigorously and apply it liberally, generally splashing rather than carefully dosing. I don't know if this was designed for such carefree usage, but either way, I highly recommend it.Functionally, what it accomplishes is subtle but real. It normalizes skin after cleansing, reduces that sometimes slightly unsettled post-wash feeling, and creates a smoother surface for creams. On days when I want a minimal routine, this works well as a bridge straight from cleanser to moisturizer without feeling like something important is missing. The green tea and botanical components are present more for calming and antioxidant support than for visible correction. Niacinamide and barrier lipids are included at sensible, non pushy levels. Nothing here feels aggressive or over-ambitious, and that restraint seems intentional. This is not a product that delivers obvious before and after results. Its value shows up in consistency, comfort, and how well skin behaves over time. Used regularly, I think it helps keep things from going wrong rather than trying to force change. At its price point, it makes the most sense for people who value texture, ease of use, and routine flexibility. It will feel redundant if you rely heavily on targeted serums, but it fits nicely into minimal routines or as a full-body hydrating step where lighter formulations make more practical sense.Overall, this is a well-designed, pleasant essence that understands its role.
